Resirene and UBQ® Materials, have partnered to produce the first circular-grade high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), making it the most sustainable polystyrene on the planet.
This additive is manufactured from household waste—including at least 50% biogenic material such as food scraps, cardboard, or paper—and postconsumer plastics, which help significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
UBQ™ is a sustainability additive used to reduce and offset the environmental footprint of a product’s raw materials. The mechanical properties of a compound containing
can be tailored to suit a wide range of applications, particularly in high-volume commodity products
At Resirene, we are conducting an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) on this grade and estimate a 50% reduction in GHG emissions compared to virgin HIPS.
We offer grades designed for extrusion and injection molding of consumer goods.
Examples include trays, boxes, and hooks. Not suitable for food-grade applications.
